The thumbnail of the video was that of a woman standing with Mukesh Ambani. Using reverse search, we found this image on the stock photo website Getty Images. In the original image, however, it was Mukesh Ambani’s wife Nita Ambani standing next to him. It became clear that the photo of a different woman was digitally added over Nita Ambani’s face. A search for Bitcoin iPlex App did not lead to any news stories or verified articles linking it to Infosys or Narayana Murthy. The video was uploaded on March 3, 2023 with the title, “This Is What N R Narayana Murthy Feels Is A New-Age Ponzi Scheme”.
A Reliance spokesperson confirmed to BOOM that the article and an interview in it is fake
We asked the account about why they were using photos of a fashion blogger. The process, taking a mere 90 seconds, revealed a reduced minimum deposit, confirming Murthy’s claims. Finally, we ran a keyword search about Murthy launching a trading platform, but could not find any such report published by The Indian Express or any other reputable media publication. A video of Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani allegedly endorsing a new investment scheme is making the rounds on social media. The video shows Murthy talking to press persons with an overlaid audio claiming he has launched a new trading platform. In a related incident earlier in the same month, Ratan Tata, the former chairman of Tata Sons, brought attention to a deepfake video circulating on Instagram that falsely utilized his identity. “Our internal investigation unequivocally affirms BTC Ai Evex authenticity. Without any prior trading experience, our team effortlessly accrued `23,886 in three days,” claims the so-called news report.
